Locnville - ein Zwillingspaar aus Südafrika, dass am 13.August ihre Single "Sun In My Pocket" veröffentlicht.
ProSieben.de hat die beiden interviewt und ein bisschen über personliche Dinge und ihre Musik befragt:
1) You are identical twins and I suppose often taken for the other one. Is there a funny story you can write us about?
Brian: The only time I can really remember that we switched places and got taken for each other was back in school when we switched classes because I didn’t want to write a test, but ended up in another class where I had to write the same test I’d written earlier, so I just decided to do badly on the second one.
Andrew: I can’t really think of anything in particular off the top of my head, but we’ve had a few moments that have been quite a laugh.
2) Have you ever had a fight over a girl? ;)
Brian: No, we usually have different taste in girls.
Andrew: No, nothing serious. We’ve more competed to see who can get a girl first! ;)
3) What’s the biggest difference between you two?
Brian: There’s quite a few, but if you want to tell us apart easier, I have a star tattoo on my left wrist, and Andrew has writing across his.
Andrew: I suppose that would be up to the individual to decide!
4) Since Charlie Chaplin is your Great-great-cousin. Are people often referring to you as Charlie Chaplin’s relatives? Are you often compared to him?
Brian: We are often referred to as relatives of Charlie Chaplin, which we are, but some people think he’s our grandfather or something, which is isn’t true. We don’t get compared to him a lot, we’re in two completely different careers.
Andrew: It’s definitely a topic of conversation, but we’ve never really tried to push ourselves from that angle, we want people to listen to our music for what it is and not because we’re related to Charlie Chaplin. I’m very proud of the relation though, and if that’s what will make some people listen to the tunes, then that’s cool with me!

5) When did you decide to become musicians? Was there something like a turning point?
Brian: As far as I can remember, I’ve been into music, but the turning
point to make it a career was at about 6 when we got our first guitars.
Andrew: We’ve wanted to be involved in the music industry since as far back as I can remember! I think the real turning point was getting miniature little guitars for our 6th birthday, we started to mess around on them doing covers and what not, then started to write our own material and it all just snow balled from there!
6) Since you both are from South Africa, how did you experience the World Cup? Have you had any opportunity to watch a game?
Brian: The World Cup has been great! The exposure it has given South Africa and everything in it is priceless. We had one hell of a party during the World Cup, we didn’t watch any games live, but made sure there was a party happening around it!
Andrew: The energy from the World Cup in South Africa has been absolutely phenomenal! We haven’t gone to any actual stadium games, but we’ve watched a lot of them on the TV. We were invited to the Ghana and USA game, but unfortunately we were busy!
7) Do you like football or are you even fans?
Brian: I never used to be that in to football, but when the World Cup came around, I found myself getting really amped. So I got geared up and showed my support!
Andrew: To be honest, I never really used to watch or follow football at all before the World Cup, but since it’s hit here I’ve become quite an avid fan! I even busted a little tear at a few of the games!
8) Since you are a music duo, do you always want to make music together or could you also imagine having solo-careers?
Brian: I could imagine a solo career, but I don’t think I’d ever do it. There’s a good energy when both of us add our bit into the music, and that would probably fade with a solo career.
Andrew: I’ve sometimes thought about it, but the energy that Brian and I
have when working on music is to be rivalled. We work really well together
and are always coming up with new concepts and ideas that we bounce off of
each other.

9) Your new album „Sun In My Pocket“ is a huge success. How do you deal with fame? Is there someone that supports and guides you?
Brian: I just take it one step at a time, and just ride the wave. Having Drew is good, because he’s going through the same thing, so we can talk about it and keep our feet on the ground.
Andrew: Well, thank you for that! It’s been quite overwhelming! There isn’t necessarily one way that you deal with fame, it just starts to become your everyday life. So just taking it as it comes! My dad plays a massive role in keeping us grounded. He’s a wise man!
10) You write your songs on your own. Where do you get the inspiration from and do you discuss your songs with each other? Is there something like a role each of you has when you’re writing and producing songs? And are you always satisfied with the ideas the other one has or do you sometimes even fight about a song?
Brian: We both discuss the songs and put equal amount into the writing and production. We’re not always happy with one anothers ideas, but we work around it. We’re not precious when it comes to writing, we’ve deleted whole songs before just because we woke up one morning and didn’t like it.
Andrew: Yes we do. It’s a very collaborative effort when we make music. One of us sometimes will contribute more to a particular song, but all in all it’s a very 50 / 50 collab. We’ll often come up with ideas for tracks or beats and then listen over them and trash them. We’re not precious at all when it comes to our music because we’re pumping out new tunes everyday!
11) There are a lot of clichés about twins: that they think alike and always know what the other one feels. Has there ever been a situation in you life where the cliché became reality?
Brian: We do think alike sometimes, and can definitely kind of tell what the others feeling. But it’s not so literal, it’s not like we can hear a voice and see images of what one of us is thinking. So don’t believe the hype! Haha!
Andrew: I wouldn’t actually know if it’s a twin specific thing, because that’s all I know. But we definitely have times where we’ll be on the same brain wave or thinking the same thing, quite often in fact!
All the best! ;)
